Privacy Policy — Famlo
Last updated:
This privacy policy describes how Famlo processes personal data you provide when visiting the Famlo website or signing up to the waitlist. Processing follows GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
Controller
The controller within the meaning of GDPR Art. 4(7) is: Jaime Enrique Rojas Almonte Franz-Heubl-Str. 33, 81735 Munich, Germany privacy@famlo.app
What we collect at waitlist signup
When you sign up to the waitlist, we process the following personal data:
- Email address — required; unique key of your entry; used for the confirmation email and the later notification that your spot has opened.
- First name — required; used to address you personally in emails.
- Language (German or English) — derived from your browser language at signup time; determines the language of all emails.
- Privacy-policy version — identifier of the version that was shown to you at signup; recorded for audit.
- Consent timestamp — the moment you accepted the privacy policy.
- Marketing opt-in — optional; only if you tick the marketing checkbox do we record the state ("requested" / "confirmed") and the timestamp; a confirmation email with a single-use link is sent.
- Campaign tag — optional; only stored if the link you arrived through carried a `?ref=` parameter.
- IP address — used solely server-side for rate-limiting; not persisted in the database; cleared from memory within 24 hours.
Purpose of processing
We process your data solely to manage your entry on the waitlist, send you a confirmation, and notify you later when Famlo is ready for you. Marketing emails are sent only if you have given the separate marketing consent and confirmed it via the link in the confirmation email (double opt-in).
Legal basis
Processing is based on GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) (taking pre-contractual steps at your request). For marketing emails, the legal basis is GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) (your separate consent). You can withdraw the marketing consent at any time without affecting your waitlist entry.
Recipients
Your data is stored in our own database. For sending the confirmation emails we use Resend, based in the USA, under EU standard contractual clauses; a data-processing agreement is in place. No further sharing with third parties takes place.
Retention
We store your data until you are converted into a regular Famlo account — at which point it is migrated into your profile — or until you request deletion. If Famlo does not launch publicly, we delete the entire waitlist.
Your rights
Under GDPR Art. 15–22 you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. To exercise any of these, send an informal email to privacy@famlo.app. We respond within the statutory one-month window.
Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. For Famlo as a provider based in Munich, the responsible authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht — BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
